Everytime it Rains

Everyone it Rains was included on Cruel Summer (the American equivalent of Flowers) and a repackaged Flowers in the UK.  For all other countries, the song was included the compilation album Singles of the 90s.

Everytime it Rains was was a cover song (the second after Don’t Turn Around) originally written for Annie Lennox.  The band has gone on record saying they don’t like doing cover songs, but did so at the insistence of Clive Davis of Arista records.  The song was originally sung by Jenny but Davis insisted “The blond one” do it instead.  Legend has it the song was recorded in one take and was the last song Linn ever did in lead vocals.

No video was filmed for the single and little promotion was done.  It reached #1 in Romania and peaked at #22 in the UK, failing to chart in the US.
