The 1st CD I Bought in my life when I Was a Kid was yours, ‘Ace of Base : Happy Nation’. It was expensive as I never had much money as a kid, didn’t even have a CD Player. Used to go to one of my Neighbors/Friends House to listen to it.
I just want to say that, I wish Linn and Jenny, most happiness and joy for the future. They brought Most Joy to me, with their Music. The perfomance at the World Music Awards in 1996, with Celine Dion and Michael Jackson (RIP) in the audience, is the greatest video I have ever seen. I watch it when I feel down, to lift me up. Thank you.
Been a fan of this group since I was 3-4 years old (have a cassette tape that’s obviously seen better days), and now at 20 years old, I can say for certain that Ace Of Base is still my favorite pop group (well the 90′s lineup that is). I don’t mind their newer stuff, it’s not as bad (it’s certainly not rubbish like some older fans like to call it), but their original tunes is what hits it home for me.
Btw, I’m not sure if both Linn or Jenny have heard this enough, but man, just watching some 90′s music videos, I can say that women in the 90′s are far more beautiful than this generation of women in the media, and they didn’t have to wear provocative clothing or act in an oversexualised manner to attract their fans. They just have to show up for the music video and it’s good enough.
Of course I’m not going to undersell the good work that was done behind the scenes by Ulf and Jonas, I appreciate all the programming and the songwriting that these guys put in, especially for Happy Nation.
Oh, and greetings from New Zealand. Long time Ace of Base fan and still am.
Thanks for the great website. I’ve noticed that some of your videos linked to YouTube have been pulled down. Thanks to YouTube downloader I have them still. By the way Jenny is right about the use of the name ace of base; The addition of the dots makes it a new name legally and the idea that is was purely a stylistic change is bullshit. I like Jennys new cd very much. I think she is above the intellect of todays audience where 16 year olds make music for 12 year olds.
Ace of Base, you’re the best! Often listen to your songs, they take me back to my youth. What about Linn? How is she? She is very beautiful… and her voice…. it was fantastic…..
This website is no longer being maintained. I'll leave it up until my hosting expires in June 2012. Thanks to everyone for their contributions and for many good times. ~KiwiAcer
