Ace Of Base win “Bestselling International Band” at the Echo Awards in Germany.
APR: The Sign (album)  becomes the first Swedish album to reach number one in the US.

Crazed German fan Manuela Behrendt confronts Jenny with a knife in the Berggren house. After a struggle, Jenny’s father gets her under control.  (Ravine was written about this event).  Security is increased for all band members.

Lucky Love is performed as a world exclusive at the World Games in Gothenburg.  Ulf is still ill during this performance.
SEP: In Finnish interview, Ulf and Jonas attribute the delay of The Bridge to Linn’s exhaustion and damaged voice.
Swedish band Yaki-Da release their album Pride. Most songs are written and produced by Jonas.  The group gains interest because of their connection to Ace of Base, but is not popular in Sweden.  They are more successful in Asia.
OCT: The Bridge is released in Europe, and goes to number one in Sweden.
Lucky Love is released, becomes the group’s first #1 in Sweden.
The video for Beautiful Life is filmed in Gothenburg.
NOV: Lucky Love debuts at #20 in UK. Performed on Top of the Pops UK.

JAN: Beautiful Life enters UK charts at #21, then #15 the next week.
Ace of Base perform Lucky Love and Beautiful Life at Dance D’or (France) and receive award for best selling dance act.  [video]
FEB: Ace of Base perform at the Vina del Mar Festival de la Cancion in Chile – their first live concert.
Ace of Base travel to Mexico and appear on two TV shows.
Ulf dates Swedish supermodel Emma Sjöberg, the couple get a lot of attention in the Swedish press.
MAR: Ace of Base perform All That She Wants and Never Gonna Say I’m Sorry on Dance Machine 8 (France). [video]
During a promotional tour in Asia, Linn gets exhausted and takes a plane home to Sweden. The rest of the band is left to cope with just three members but they finish their promotional tour anyway, Jenny lip synching to Linn’s parts.
APR: Ace of Base in Australia (Hey Hey it’s Saturday).
MAY: Ace of Base win Best Selling Scandinavian Act at World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. They perform Beautiful Life, and Jenny and Linn give acceptance speeches. [video]
Jonas wins a court dispute against a neighbour regarding a bridge.
JUN: Ulf gives an interview about Linn, saying the band can handle the situation and some people have more energy than others.
JUL: Linn and Jenny perform in Liseberg funpark in Göteborg, singing Linn’s “Sång”. Jenny mentions later on that Linn found this performance to be a lot of fun and wasn’t scared at all.
DEC: Beautiful Life is only 186 on the UK Top 200 of 1996.

1997
FEB: Ulf’s past comes back to bite him as his former white power friends release an album called “Uffe was a Nazi”, featuring him singing.
MAR: Jonas participates in the Swedish semifinals of the Eurovision song contest. He’s written a song called “Nattens Änglar” (“Angles Of The Night”, performed by a band called Photogenique). The song gets 0 points though. According to Swedish fans, the performance was very bad. The Swedish press has fun bashing Jonas’ song lyrics even a year after this.  Jonas breaks his leg and spends his 30th  birthday in hospital.
APR: Ace of Base win Best Selling Scandinavian act again at the World Music Awards.  Jenny performs Ravine and accepts the award, while Linn plays keyboards (and quickly leaves the stage)  [video]
JUL: The band  play at a concert celebrating Princess Victoria’s (of Sweden) 20th birthday.  [video]

JUN: Flowers album is released.
A private party is held for the release, and Linn doesn’t appear to be shy and happily poses for photos.
German magazine Bravo publish an interview done after “The Dome 6”, but the article focuses on how Linn doesn’t talk and looks depressed.
The ‘Our Story’ documentary is shown on Swedish TV.  The documentary features Linn who says she doesn’t want to quit singing, but the success was too much for her.

Jonas and Jenny appear at the Midem festival in Cannes, where there are lots of other Swedish musicians. They accept an award for Ace Of Base and Jonas also participates in a panel discussion about Swedish music.
APR: Everytime it Rains enters at #22 in the UK.  A revised version of Flowers is released in the UK including this track and a remix of Cecilia.  Sales do not improve due to bad promotion.
JUL: The Berggrens’ father passes away due to heart attack.
OCT: C’est La Vie (always 21) released in Europe.
NOV: Singles of the 90s released.
Jonas’ first child Julia is born.

JAN: C’est La Vie becomes a surprise #1 hit in Spain.

FEB: Ulf does some modelling in Spain.

He would have included “Mercy Mercy, Love For Sale, LIAF, AHAW, CN, CS (uptempo version), He Decides, TTR, AIP, Dr Sun, Cecilia, Donnie and No Good Lover. In another chat session, Jonas says he has over 500 songs written, but the problem is the long recording process.  He mentions he would like to release a fan album free of charge In another chat session, Jonas asks fans which tracks should be included in the US Greatest Hits.
The US Greatest Hits is released,  after being pushed back 3 times (Oct->Dec->Jan) but sells fewer than 5000 copies in its first week.
Everytime it Rains is released to radio, but doesn’t make an impact due to lack of promotion.
Hallo Hallo is a flop in Germany, entering at 99 before dropping out of the charts.  This is due to poor promotion and no video.
MAY: Hallo Hallo reaches #21 in Spain.
AUG: Jonas marries Birthe in a secret wedding.
Jenny performs “Give Me The Faith”, “Tvivel (Doubt)” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” for Swedish television
OCT: Jonas mentions in chat that he is working on what is to become Da Capo  (it was then known as Album V) He mentions Linn’s vocals will be recorded at The Barn, while Jenny’s vocals will be done in numerous studios in Sweden.
Jenny sings several songs in a Christmas concert, televised on SVT1 in Sweden.

2001
FEB: Jonas says in chat that the album (Da Capo) may be delayed as record companies want the band to do songs written by other artists.
MAY: Jonas’ second child, a son named Göran is born.
NOV: Universal release 2-CD boxset (HN/TB) and 3-CD boxset (HN/TB/F) in Europe.

JAN: The Swedish website Expressen has published an article that interviews Jonas, highlighting Ace Of Base’s problems with their record companies. Manager Lasse Karlsson responds, admitting their have been delays but the album will still come out.
MAR: Edel/Mega sell off the copyright of the majority of their back catalogue and pay off all debts.
APR: It is reported that Arista in America have dropped Ace of Base.  This is because Jonas wanted to try Edel Records America instead, however this company went bust at the worst possible time.  Ace of Base are without a US record label.

AUG: AceofBase.com says they are aiming to have a fifth studio album out by Summer 2005.  18 songs have been written by Jonas, of which 8 would likely be on the album.
SEP: Ulf becomes a father.

JAN: Swedish media report Linn is rejoining Ace of Base and will step back into the spotlight  [link]
MAR: AceofBase.com announce the website will be closing and a new website built.
OCT/NOV: 15 Performances at Night of the Proms in Belgium. [video]

2006
JUL: Jonas reports in Swedish media that he will be a father again soon.
NOV: An Acer in Sweden reports being shown a new song from Ace of Base manager Lasse Karsson called Sunset in South California, featuring both Jenny and Linn.  Acers are excited, but nothing eventuates with this song.
DEC: Manager Lasse Karlsson is interviewed by Stan of The Aceboards.  He says a new album has been in development since 2005 and is planned for a Sping 2008 release.  He also says Malin is involved in the new album and is still part of the band.

2007
FEB: Jenny gives birth to her second child – a girl.  [link]

SEP: A new AceofBase.com website is launched.
OCT: BMI honours Ace of Base for  3 million performances of The Sign on US TV and radio.  Jenny accepts the award in London. [link]

FEB: Ray meets with Ulf in Sweden, reports hearing a number of new tracks.  He posts a message from Jonas, introducing Clara and Julia.
MAR: Jenny is interviewed by a Canadian radio station.  A world-first preview of her first single “Here I am” is played.

APR: Ray provides Acers with progress of the new AOB2.0 album.  Most tracks are to be finished within the next 2 months.

Swedish media report that their is a dispute over the name Ace of Base between Jenny and Ulf/Jonas.

The video for All For You is filmed in Gothenburg and released.
Jenny releases her second single “Gotta Go” to radio in Sweden.  According to fans it is her most impressive song yet.

Gotta Go is serviced to radio in the UK and the US, then the single is released digitally only on iTunes (almost world-wide) and CDON.

Jenny is interviewed on German radio.  She admits to getting emotional when thinking of Ace of Base without her, and concentrates on her solo projects.  [link]
Ray confirms that he is officially employed by Universal and is in charge of digital and fan marketing for the band.
The Golden Ratio is released, first in Germany and followed by Belgium, Denmark, Austria, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg & Norway.
Ace of Base attend an AIDS charity event in Toronto where they sing impromptu with Kelly Rowland.  At an earlier fan meeting there they do acoustic versions of All For You and Cruel Summer.
They also travel to New York to do promo on Sirius radio (aired later), despite the album not being released there.  At the NY fan meeting they do an acoustic “Blah Blah Blah (OTR)”.
